Natural Home Remedies for prostate disorder

NATURAL HOME REMEDIES FOR PROSTATE DISORDER

Enlarged Prostate, Prostatitis : A large % of men over 50 years of age suffer from prostate troubles of one form or other. The prostate gland is a male gland, comparable in shape and size to a large chestnut
It is situated at the base of the urinary bladder and around the commencement of the urethra. There are various types of prostate disorders, the more important being hypertrophy or enlargement of the prostate gland, and prostatitis or inflammation in the prostate gland.

Causes and symptoms:

2 warning signals to indicate the possibility of prostate disorder:

1) Interference with the passage of urine
2) Urine frequently during the night's sleep.

Other symptoms are :
  • A dull aching pain in the lower back
  • pain in the hips, legs and feet
The position of the prostate gland makes it liable to congestion and other disorders.
  • In the erect position, pressure falls on the pelvic region just where the prostate gland is situated.
  • With ageing, the body gets heavier and loses its flexibility.
  • This puts greater pressure on the pelvis and increases the vulnerability of the prostate gland.
  • Prolonged period of setting as in certain occupations, also increase the pressure on the pelvic region, resulting in congestion of the tissues around the prostate gland.
  • Acute prostatitis may also results from exposure to cold and chill and from infectious diseases.Another important cause of prostate disorders is constipation, when the feaces become hardened and the rectum or lower bowel is overloaded, causing undue pressure on the prostate gland

Remedies:

Persons beyond the age of 50, who have signs of prostate trouble, or those who suffer from urinary disorders of some kind, namely, burning or difficulty in passing urine freely, should take 60 - 90 grams of pumpkin seeds per day. The seeds can be taken in the form of powder sprinkled over cooked vegetables or mixed with wheat flour to make chapatis. They can also be taken in the form of paste made with honey, or as a drink mixed with diluted milk and sugar to taste.

Vegetable Juices:
The use of vegetable juices has been found beneficial in the treatment of prostate problems, including prostate enlargement. The juice of carrots, taken separately in a 500 ml quantity or in combination with spinach juice. is specially valuable. In case of combined juices, 200 ml of spinach juice should be mixed with 300 ml of carrot juice to prepare 500 ml or half a liter of combined juices.

Zinc:
The use of zinc has been found valuable in cases of prostate disorders. About 30 mg of this mineral should be taken daily in the treatment of these diseases.

Vitamin E :
Vitamin E has proved to be an important factor for prostate health.  The person should therefore take 600 IU of this vitamin daily.

The person should practice a healthy lifestyle. Avoid sexual excess, irregularities in eating and drinking, long period of  sitting and vigorous exercise. All efforts should be made to tone up the general health of the body.

STAY HAPPY AND HEALTHY AT ALL AGES.

Prevent Low Blood Pressure by Having Positive Thinking

PREVENT LOW BLOOD PRESSURE BY HAVING POSITIVE THINKING

Hypotension : Low blood pressure or hypotention refers to the fall in blood pressure below normal. Is is a condition in which the action of the heart, in forcing the blood through the arteries is weak. This is a direct outcome of a weakened and devitalized system.

CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS:

The person with chronic low blood pressure may complain of:

Lethargy, weakness, fatique and dizziness
The person may also faint, especially if arterial pressure is lowered further when he assumes an erect position. These symptoms are presumably due to a decrease in perfusion of blood to the brain, heart, skeletal muscle and other organs.

The other most important cause of low blood pressure is faulty nutrition. It makes the tissues forming the walls of the blood vessels over-relaxed and flabby or stretched. This results in less supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. Malnutrition can result from a diet deficient in calories, proteins, vitamin C or almost any one of the B vitamins.

Sometimes the blood pressure falls rapidly because of loss of blood. Low blood pressure may also develop gradually because of slow bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys or bladder. Emotional problems are a far more frequent cause of low blood pressure. To a lesser degree, prolonged disappointment and frustration may result in a subnormal blood pressure. So, HAVE A POSITIVE THINKING AND BE HAPPY.

REMEDIES:

1) BEETROOT: The juice of beetroot is one of the most effective remedies for low blood pressure. The person should drink a cup of this juice twice daily for treating this condition. Considerable improvement will be noticeable within a week.

2) EPSOM SALTS BATH
This bath should be taken just before retiring to bed and care should be exercised not to catch a chill afterwards.

NUTRIENTS: Proteins (ESP), Vitamin C and all vitamins of the B group have been found beneficial in the prevention and treatment of low blood pressure. Liberal use of this vitamin alone often helps in raising the blood pressure.

All living habits which tend to enervate the system, such as overwork, excesses of all kinds, needless worry and negative thinking must be eliminated as far a possible.

Low blood sugar is a disorder of blood sugar metabolism

LOW BLOOD SUGAR IS A DISORDER OF BLOOD SUGAR METABOLISM

Hypoglycemia : Low blood sugar or hypoglycemia is a disorder of blood sugar metabolism.

Caused and the symptoms:

A craving for sweets and starch is excessive amounts between meals is the first sign of a low blood sugar level. When the blood sugar level falls much below normal, symptoms such:
  • nervousness
  • irritability
  • fatigue
  • depression
  • disturbed vision
  • headaches
  • sweating
  • trembling
  • numbness
  • numbness
  • absentmindedness
  • dizziness
  • palpitations of the heart
  • some sexual disturbance

Most people with low blood sugar feel hungry and eat frequently to get over the feeling of weakness and emotional irritability. They feel tense if they have to go without food for several hours.

Low blood sugar can compound into an emergency condition. In such and eventuality, medical help should be sought immediately. However, when the person experiences any symptoms that indicate a fall in blood sugar, he should immediately take a heaped teaspoon of sugar and then seek medical help.

Low blood sugar is usually caused by:

  • excessive intake of refined carbohydrates and sugary food - cause the pancreas, the adrenal glands and the liver to lose their ability to handle sugar properly
  • tumor
  • disturbed functioning of the liver, pituitary glands, or adrenal glands
  • Stress

Remedies:

- Ideal diet should be based on three basic food groups (main group) :
  • grains, seeds and nuts
  • vegetables and fruits
- Supplemented by :
  • milk and milk products
  • vegetable oils
Seeds and nut should be taken in a raw form and grains in the form of cereals, should be cooked. Cooked grains are digested slowly and release sugar into the blood gradually, six to eight hours after meals. This will keep the blood sugar normal and constant for long period.
Persons suffering from a low blood sugar should take six to eight meals a day instead of two or three large meals. Eating raw nuts and seeds such as pumpkin or sunflower seeds, or drinking milk, buttermilk or fruit juices between meals will be beneficial.

All refined and processed foods, white sugar, white floor and all their by-products should be completely eliminated from the diet. Coffee, alcohol and soft drinks should also be avoided. The consumption of salt should be reduced as an excessive intake of salt causes loss of blood potassium which causes blood sugar to drop

- Vitamins: Certain vitamins have been found effective in the treatment of low blood sugar. These are vitamin C, E and B complex.
Vitamin C and B increase tolerance of sugar and carbohydrate and help normalize sugar metabolism. Vitamin B6 help to build up adrenals which are generally exhausted in persons with low blood sugar. Vitamin E improves glycogen storage in the muscles and tissues. The person should take vitamin C in large doses from 2000 to 5000mg, B6 - 50 mg, and vitamin E up to 1600 IU daily

Proper rest is essential for those suffering from low blood sugar. A tranquil mind is of utmost importance in this condition. Nervous strain and anxiety should be relieved.

Take care of yourselves and avoid Low Blood sugar

How to avoid varicose veins as I wanna continue to wear skirts

HOW TO AVOID VARICOSE VEINS AS I WANNA CONTINUE TO WEAR SKIRTS????

Dilated Swollen Veins : Veins are thin-walled vessels through which the impure blood is carried back to the heart. They actually have valves which regulate the flow of blood towards the heart. Varicose veins are a condition in which veins become enlarged, dilated, or thickened. This condition can occur in any part of the body but generally appear in the leg.

Well, for those who likes to wear short skirts, this will not look good and this make our legs look old.

CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS:

The first sign of varicose veins is swelling along the course of the veins. This may be followed by muscular cramps and a felling of tiredness in the leg behind the knees. in some cases, the normal flow of blood towards the heart may be reversed when the person is in an upright position. This results in venous blood collecting in the lower part of the legs; the skin becomes purplish and pigmented, leading to what is known as varicose eczema or varicose ulcers. Both these conditions cause severe pains.

A varicose condition of the veins results from sluggish circulation due to various factors such as:
  • constipation
  • dietetic errors
  • lack of exercise
  • smoking
  • standing for long hours
  • wearing tight clothing
  • pregnancy due to increased pressure int he pelvic and abdomen, which slows down the flow of blood from the lower extremities to the heart.
  • early years of child bearing
  • obesity

Remedies:

There are many home remedies that can help prevent varicose veins.

A proper method must be know to prepare the home remedies and it can also take your busy time off to prepare it. Hence, these are also some supplements/nutrients that can be taken as follows:

Certain nutrients, especially vitamins E and C have also been found effective int he treatment of this disease. The person should take vitamin C in the therapeutic doses up to 3000 mg (6 tablets daily) and vitamin E in therapeutic doses from 600 to 1200 mg (2 -4 tablets ) daily.

This will relieve the person of pain and leg cramps associated with varicose veins.

Stomach upset in the morning - How to keep it calm

STOMACH UPSET IN THE MORNING - HOW TO KEEP IT CALM

My stomach tends to get up set in the morning. What can I eat for breakfast to keep it calm throughout my day?

Yogurt can be a great part of healthy breakfast - especially for those with digestive issues. Why??????

The presence of live active cultures. Look on the label to make sure yours contains them. These

cultures, called probiotics, work to improve the health and function of

the digestive system,. We actually have bacteria in our intestinal tract,
and probiotics help to keep them in the proper balance. Probiotic can be helpful when dealing with a bout of diarrhea, and they can help combat some of the common intestinal side effects of antibiotics, such as gas, bloating and diarrhea. Antibiotics kill all bacteria, even the good guys, and that's what leads to those unpleasant side effects. Probiotics help to replace what gets destroyed and, in doing so, can alleviate those symptoms.

As healthy as yogurt is for us, you need to be careful about what type you choose. It can be a big difference on the amount of calories and added sugar you get. When yogurt first hit the ,market a few year ago, you had one choice: plain. Fast forward several years dozen years, and you can get anything from strawberry, apricot and many other flavors.

All this can contain a lot of sugar and close to 200 calories, which seems like more of a

dessert than a healthy snack or breakfast option. In fact, these really aren't bad dessert choices, because they give you dose of protein and calcium. However, if you enjoy yogurt as part of a healthy breakfast or a snack, your best bet is to buy fat free plain or vanilla yogurt and mix in real fruit. This way you save a ton of calories and sugar but get the added bonus of serving of fruit.

Another choice which I would like to recommend is having it with a meal shake from Shaklee.

Blend it with yogurt of your choice and have it as your meal for breakfast.

Low-fat, low-glycemic Shaklee® Meal Shakes. These great-tasting, easy-to-mix drinks pack extra nutrition into any meal or snack. They provide 19 essential vitamins and minerals, and they’re a rich source of calcium and an excellent source of protein — the fundamental nutrients that is needed to stay strong and healthy. A non-soy protein choice. Available in French Vanilla and Bavarian Cocoa flavors.

Produce breast milk for your newbown - I'm loving it

PRODUCE BREAST MILK FOR YOUR NEWBORN - I'M LOVING IT....

I love breastfeeding. There's a kind of feeling that I can't describe where it comes naturally once you give birth. It’s not only the optimal food for baby but it’s wonderful for mama. I've previously written about some supplements for pregnancy , and also shared supplements during confinement
But what happens when you can’t produce enough milk for baby?
I'll surely get panic and get stressed , but that’s the last thing we want to do. Stress can deplete milk supply more than anything else. Relax and focus that everything will be OK - positive thinking. Focus on what we can do to help increase our supply, which many women have been able to do successfully without resorting to drugs or formula. We also sometimes get thoughts from friends and families who have gone through it.

Here are 10 tips that will help you produce  breast milk supply naturally - from my reading online and books.

1. Nurse, nurse, nurse…

There is nothing that can increase your supply like your baby’s suckling. Breast milk production is all about supply and demand, and it’s a tightly regulated system. Don’t worry if your breasts don’t feel full or think baby isn't getting much milk, the sucking reflex will help stimulate more milk over the long run. So, anytime you can, bring your baby to the breast and let him nurse, nurse, nurse.

2. Nurse skin-to-skin

When you do nurse, go skin-to-skin. Take off your shirt and bra and keep baby in just a diaper. Wrap a blanket around the two of you and nurse away. This practice is not only incredibly bonding for mama and baby, it also helps release more of the hormones that produce milk as well as the milk ejector hormones. Continue this practice during nap time, bedtime, and throughout night.

3. Put no time limit to nursing sessions

If you are struggling with supply, it’s best not to time feedings or limit how much time baby is on each breast. Try to give baby both breasts during each feeding for more overall production.

4. Don’t use pacifiers, bottles or food

These not only satisfy the oral stimulation but can reduce hunger, making the baby less likely to nurse. Talk to your doctor but it’s best to only limit solid food if your baby is less than 6 months and he/she is at a healthy weight.

5. Get enough sleep and stay relaxed

Not easy with a newborn but try as best you can. Studies show that mothers produce more milk and have a better milk letdown when they are calm and relax. Nap when your baby naps. If you can get a babysitter, neighbor or family member to help out. Have friends or hubby cook you homemade meals in bulk for easy access to nutritious food. Listen to soothing music, think of flowing streams and trust that you can and will successfully nurse your baby - positive thingking

6. Watch your diet

Drink a lot of liquids as it really does makes a difference. Drink at least 12 – 8 oz. glasses a day or drink to thirst. For nutrition, many moms have boosted supply by eating galactagogues like oatmeal, barley, millet and quinoa as well as spices like fennel, ginger and turmeric. Brewer’s yeast, flaxseed, almonds, and sesame seeds can boost your supply.  Be sure you are eating enough to keep up with the demands of nursing. For exclusive breastfeeding, you are going to need at least 500 calories more a day.

7. Pump in-between nursings
Pumping can be a great short-term way to keep your breast stimulated and produce more milk. I know from experience that consistent pumping really works! You can do right after a feeding until all of your milk drains from both breasts and then continue for 5 additional minutes. If there is no milk from the beginning, just keep pumping as the stimulation will still help. Aim for 10 minutes for each breast. As an FYI, milk production tends to be highest between the hours of 2-5 a.m.

8. Take some helpful supplements - I recommend Shaklee milk booster set.All these are the same supplements required during confines and you need to add Alfalfa as alfalfa are natural milk boosters and ESP is another milk booster.  As a very last resort, you can talk to your doctor about prescription medication to boost supply.

9. Make sure latch is right

If your baby can’t efficiently drain the breast, you may have problems with supply since the breast isn’t stimulated enough. It can be a simple as correcting a bad latch or addressing any anatomical issues that are preventing a good latch from a baby being lip tied, tongue tied or mama having inverted nipples. Or you can get consultation from a lactation consultant.

10. Switch breasts or double feed

For a sleepy baby that falls asleep before they reach the second breast, stop her a few minutes into nursing and switch her to the other side. By doing so, you have a good shot at keeping her awake to feed more. Keep switching back and forth when you notice her starting to dose off until breats are drained. You can double feed which is to nurse, take a break by burping baby, and then place her back on for another feed at both breasts. By taking the burping break, you are releasing gas bubbles in stomach that allow more room for milk.

Hopefully, these tips will give your milk supply a boost and you’ll be back in the swing of things in no time.
